fileNice 1.0 released! :: 15 August 05

Yes, it's true, it's finally here. fileNice 1.0 is released.
This version adds some really useful features too including a search facility and sorting of the file lists based on settings in the prefs. There's a bunch of nerdy tech improvements too which I won't bore you with. Anyway, have a look for yourself at the demo.

Not all of the great ideas sent to me by users made it into the 1.0 release but most of the ones that didn't are in my todo list for future versions.

  4. Hi and thanks for a wonderful app.

    Wondering if its possible to not use it as a tree structure. What i mean is, if i click a folder, i want it to open. Not show the other folders and then have a “Parent Directory” button to get back to the beginning again..

    Is that possible to do today? If so, how do i tweak the code? :)

  5. There’s plenty of file broswers out there that work along those lines already pekki. fileNice was designed specifically to not work in that way for speed and ease of access. Of the others out there, most of them are pretty ropey, however Lussumo’s filebrowser and EUWDPCpix are both great pieces of software and may be more like what you are after.
